It's pretty cool that we gave arguably the best dynasty in college football history it's last bowl loss, so I also do

Oklahoma smoked Bama last year in the Sugar Bowl. And that Bama team actually has ties to said best dynasty ever.

My bad, forgot about last year. Don't have to be so negative though. Just a fun fact, no need for analysis

Fixed it for you. They lost to Oklahoma last year.

Edit: Sorry, my post was late. Not trying to pile on.

+1, we beat the son of Don Shula. Legendary program and coach, '04 was a signature bowl win all around.

Here's an idea: Move the title game to the SEC Network

That would be funny.

I was at that Music City Bowl when we beat Alabama. A very fun trip and the most enjoyable bowl game of the five that I have attended. If I remember right, Alabama had not given up 100 yards rushing to an individual running back all season but Both Marion Barber and Lawrence Maroney rushed for over 100 yards that day. These bowl trips are a lot more fun when the Gophers win!

I still can't figure out why Alabama is a power. It is a horrible state and a horrible school. Who would want to go there on purpose?

Go Gophers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They had a top 5 rushing defense in the nation that year. The Gopher band at the end of the game played Rocky Top Tennessee in a salute to Nashville.Tennessee and Vanderbilt being a rivalry, a chorus of boos rained down from the Bama fans. A great quote from that game. The Birmingham press was interviewing Maroney and asked him if the Gophers were going to be able to run against Alabama's tough defense. Maroney...." you can't tackle what you can't catch"
