Fuller: Green out for Sat.

*sigh*

Remember this from Fuller's blog the other day?

"Weber said this week that he expected sophomore Brandon Green to really step into Eric Decker's role as far as a leader among the wide receivers next season. He said Green is very vocal, but he can lead by example. Weber also hopes Green can become a go-to option for him. That's actually something the Gophers need right now."

So much for that.

How so? Green will be out 1 game and be back for the bowl and next season

How many catches did he have last week? Not a real big loss IMO.

Green is our best receiver, outside of Decker. And, the reason he did not have many catches last week? He left early due to injury, apparently to his knee.

Green is not are best WR Da' Jon is are Best WR!!

He definitely seems to have the most athleticism, but he isn't our best reciever, yet. He has to work on his route running A LOT and drops way too many balls thrown his way. The Michigan St. game definitely showed off his potential though.

Green hasnt done anything this year He was suppose to be our number 2WR when we had Decker and he still didnt do anything.

As i read that i thought it was weird they referred to it as "expected" instead of "expects" as if he had to failed to achieve that status....I thought, "doesnt he still have a chance to step up?" geuss not, atleast until the bowl.

Green has consistantly been open on his 15-20 yd routes but Weber hasn't been able to locate him or he throws it to someone else. Brandon is a very good route runner and will play a big part in the Gopher offense next season and also in the bowl game. The Gopher QB's need to work with their WR's next spring and summer to get their timing down.

If Green is open so much then he should tell 8 to throw him the ball???

I really like the Green/Stoudemire/Mcknight group. I think they're going to really create problems for the opposition in the next two years.

Green has gotten open downfield more than other WR's this year, and his frustration in not getting the ball thrown to him has been shown several times. To be fair to Weber, though, a lot of this comes back to inadequate play up front.

Hard to get the ball to Green deep when you are being tackled in the backfield. We all saw what Weber can do with time when Michigan State's defensive line decided they would rather be at a Halloween party than at TCF Bank Stadium.

We also saw him stand in the pocket 6-8 seconds and get sacked and then they blame the line!
