Minnesota head coach Tubby Smith met with Ellenson's parents before Tuesday's game. They agreed that it would be best for Ellenson to play now, rather than sit out an entire year and begin his career next season.

"He wanted to play," Smith said. "His parents felt comfortable with him playing. I think he can be helpful. I think he can be a big help."

He was a little nervous today. I put him in there late in the game. But the game was still in the balance. You could tell he was a little nervous when he fumbled it. But he’s going to be a good player for us. Wally’s got a tremendous amount of talent and athleticism.”

If Wally plays four straight years, then he would still be able to play with Henry for one season as a senior in 2015-16. They would probably both be starters at that point.

Marcus must be impressed with the big guy.
 




In being responsible for both the present and the future of Minnesota Gopher Basketball, I have a sneaky feeling that Tubby wanted to play Ellenson for some quiet time experience against lesser teams, but wanted to make sure that the Ellenson family was involved with the decision.

Now that his redshirt is burned, he will be eased in with increasing minutes in Oto's place, which by the way Tubby gave Oto plenty of chances this OOC schedule.

What will be the final result? I know what that result will be, but I am NOT telling anyone.
 


Could make an impact how is this drivel post worthy. FSN try growing a set and say he will or will not make an impact. Could means he might or might not make an impact. =Drivel
