I recently authored a book commemorating the 75-year anniversary of the first NCAA hockey tournament. The book just became available on Amazon this past week. Titled Frozen in Time: A History of the U.S. Men's College Ice Hockey Championship, the book contains over 200 photographs of past college hockey greats and in-depth recaps of every national tournament played to date. The University of Minnesota Athletics generously donated dozens of photos of Gopher greats that appear in the book. Sports Illustrated also donated several rare photos of past NCAA hockey tournaments.

All proceeds from the sale of the book will benefit the non-profit Matt Brown Foundation, a 501(c)(3) that provides equipment and other assistance to individuals living with serious spinal cord injuries. Matt was a high school hockey player from Norwood, Massachusetts, who became paralyzed from the shoulders down when he was checked into the boards during a game in 2010. He has gone on to obtain his college degree, write a book, and become a noted motivational speaker. Matt has a distant connection to the Frozen Four in that his uncle Peter Brown was an All-American defenseman for Boston University in the mid-1970s, and his last collegiate game was the infamous brawl between the Terriers and Gophers in the 1976 national semis. The Maroon and Gold, of course, won that game and then beat defending champion Michigan Tech for their second NCAA crown.

This book is a must-have for any Minnesota hockey fan. Shipping is free on Amazon. The front cover features a photograph of the classic '91 Final from the St. Paul Civic Center. Feel free to contact me with any questions or feedback.

Thank you very much.

Didn't realize this year's FF (2023) is the 75th anniversary, but also the 75th championship because of the covid cancelation in 2020.

Sure there will be some 75th merch in Tampa and hope the Gophers can win it.

Looks like a fun read.
