If we go by the criteria that the new head coach likely coached this weekend, then I think you guys are looking at most likely Randy Edsall or Jerry Kill.
Edsall would be considered a big time hire if I were to guess, but Kill not so much. With that said, I've been around Jerry Kill when he was at Emporia State and the guy may not be flashy, but he is a damn good coach. He is the type that is a coaches coach. Much like Edsall he is a very good man and very approachable. He is definitely someone that is hard to root against.
The only draw back to Kill is he seems like a D-II/D-IAA type of coach in appearance and demeanor. Edsall definitely has more flare to him and would be a good face of the Gopher program. Kill would be like having Mangino as your coach... good coach, but not something your dying to stick in front of the camera if that makes sense.
Hope regardless who is hired, they do a good job for you guys. Who knows it very well may be someone else, but I have a feeling it is either one of these two guys .
