Great decision! My bet is that there will be thousands of empty seats at game time, unless they let the students in 15 minutes before. There are a lot of old, wimpy Vikings season ticket holders, just like those no-shows at the Iowa game.

Well, actually students were the biggest no-shows at the Iowa game but this is a do-over for students. Use it!
 



This is great. I fully plan on dusting off my u card and giving this a go.

Been digging through old storage boxes looking for my id... found it but not sure it's going to work...does your ID have your student # in Roman numerals?
 

It's hard to say what the attendance will be. There has to be a lot of no shows for the stadium not to be full, but there might be some tickets available. I wonder when they will make the call on letting students in, if Vikings ticket holders are still straggling in, they might have to wait. One one hand, some people will be showing up early to get the best seats, and on the other hand, there are going to be people who will underestimate how much time they need to get to the U, find parking and get over to the stadium.

I heard that over 10,000 people took the refund route so far. With the weather, I bet a lot of students will get in. I am so excited to see this game played, it's like a playoff game.
 


This is certainly a nice gesture toward the MN students and I applaud the Vikings for the offer. It does confirm my expectation however that there is nowhere near the demand for tickets for this game that most predicted last week. A losing season and a third string QB doesn't get the Viking fans very excited. I had the radio on over the lunch hour and it now appears that Farve "may" play. Is that another stunt to fill the stands or is there some truth to that rumor?

There may or may not be truth, but I doubt it's to sell tickets. It's more about Favre wanting one last ego stroke from ESPN, given it's a Monday Night game.
