Because the right coach was just hired. And if Medved ends up not being the right coach, well, then the right coach for this program – at least given its current circumstances – doesn’t exist.

I fully agree with Jace's analysis. If you don't have the money, and the overall commitment to basketball from the administration, you can bring Rick Pitino and Kelvin Sampson here, and the thing isn't going to turn. Mark Coyle has some significant work to do here beyond this coaching hire to get people (with dollars) invested in Gopher basketball. This is now professional sports.
