I could be wrong, but i swear that he is the head vampire from "The Lost Boys"

Ha ha...that would be Edward Herman I believe.
 

I was actually trying to figure out who he reminded me of most this week and I had come up with Michael Peterson (murderer and author). Maybe it's McCaffery's frequent outbursts that make me connect him with Peterson, because they don't look all that alike..

Anyone see his wife there tonight? He's about a decade her elder.. 'atta boy Franny.

That is one cheap shot, who cares how old his wife is, she was young once and some day you will be washed up as well, so lighten up.

Fran is one good coach, and Iowa hired the right guy. Maturi never would have hired a coach as good as McCafferty if Tubby had not stumbled over him on his way out of KY.

1) It wasn't at all meant to be a cheap shot, it was actually a compliment.
2) I am washed up. And you're inferring that Fran or his wife are washed up? "as well"?
3) Not sure who McCafferty is.

Yes, I am guilty of misreading the post, but I assumed his wife had aged poorly, rather than being younger. My spelling of Fran's name may have been influenced by some memory I have a Tavern in my neighborhood once had the other name, and is now unfortunately known for Walleye rather than that great Irish name.

I am getting washed up, but I admire the fire the Iowa coach shows relative to the previous "Butler Way" coach.

If Tubby left on Monday, I doubt Maturi would come up with anyone as good as Fran McCaffery.

Hah.. no problem. I actually like her - fiery lady with an attitude that knows sports. My only complaint of her is that she's a Domer.

Yeah, she's like 6th all time scorer for Notre Dame womens basketball. (I think that's what the announcers said)

Yes, Highland Catholic is the grade school for the Lumen Christi parish. Lumen Christi was formed from a combination of the St. Leo's, St. Gregory, & St. Theresa parishes. The school predates that combination.
 

Her parents are/were until this year, Gopher BB fans and season ticket holders.
 



I think he will do a good job at Iowa. The fact that he could spot and land a couple underrated players in Basabe and Cartwright bodes well for him in Iowa City, because that's what he'll need to do in order to build that program back up. I hope he sticks around at Iowa for several years.

I believe McCaffrey actually recruited Basabe to Siena and brought him along when he went to Iowa. Basabe had a poor game tonight but he has a chance to develop into a very nice player. He would have torn up the MAAC.
