Four-star DE Trey Bixby Commits!

From that article:
“Beyond the culture, coaching staff, facilities or community aspects that I touched on earlier; it ultimately felt like home. I grew up going to games at Minnesota, spring practices and spring games as a kid. I remember eating dinner with Mike Sherels and the team one time when I was about 7 years old. I grew up getting balls signed by Gopher players, I had a custom Ra'Shede Hageman jersey as well when I was younger. I've always grown up loving the state of Minnesota. We've lived out of the state now for about half my life but once I stepped on campus in June it just felt like being home.”

Man, this kid is well-coached and clearly an athletic freak. Great motor, plays low, disciplined on the backside of plays and when unblocked. A touch slow off the ball, but he was only a soph playing a high level of FB in Ohio.

Very fun news to get during a pretty bleak week for CFB! Thanks, Trey! And kudos to Fleck and Co!

15 Guys on 247. 247 has not added Bixby yet. We are at #27 without him in our ranking.
Not sure what you're looking at. He's listed, we're #15, he's our first recruit, and it's great to start with a great one.

elite way to start the 2022 class.

Did not realize he was a Minn kid. Seems like he was pretty much coming here, even if Brewster was still the coach. :ROFLMAO:

All the same, still gotta show them love and go get them! Great work PJ and staff!!

Interesting that he chose Minnesota, considering who his dad is. Not that Kyle Goblirsch has anything against PJ or Minnesota but when you’re a recruiting expert, you know every program very well (or your colleagues do) and have all sorts of inside info the average parent isn’t privy too—and you support your sons decision—it speaks volumes about that coaching staff.
Super stoked. Just wanted to get this blurb out there.

That too, but also would have a very good sense of who the “competition” would be on each roster, and how soon he might challenge for a starting role.

True. But I think he’d hesitate to send his kid to a coach he knows bad things about because he may play sooner. A kid like Bixby could have gone nearly anywhere and will play most places.
