per ESPN:

Florida wide receivers coach Joker Phillips resigned because of possible recruiting violations, a source told ESPN.

"I'm thankful for the opportunity that the University of Florida and Will Muschamp provided to me and my family, but at this time I have decided to step down from my position on the UF coaching staff for personal reasons," Phillips said in a statement.

Huh?! The dude was a WR coach at Minnesota for one whole season nearly 15 years ago (1999-2000). Mentioning the U in your somewhat shameless attempt at grabbing attention of readers headline makes no sense, imo. Sorry, just doesn't.

For comparison sake, it makes about as much sense as saying something like or writing a headline such as "Former U assistant Mike Shanahan, etc. etc." if one was posting an article about Mike Shanahan. The guy was last an assistant coach at Minnesota over 30 years ago and for a very short period of time. Making it inconsequential to anything related to the present day. Just like with Joker Philips.

Sorry, but that headline was a very Sid Hartman, Charley Walters move on your part and did nothing more than unnecessarily associate the U with something he is accused of doing at Florida.

Or it makes it relevant to bring it up on a Gophers message board. Lighten up, Bleed does an incredible job of posting relevant news to this board. It's not like he left the name out of the headline, if you weren't interested you didn't have to open the thread.

Keep it up Bleed!

I don't think he gets paid by the click

On Topic: Joker's profile appeared to be on the rise until his tenure as head coach at Kentucky knocked him down a peg. Left us for Notre Dame.

Right on. Who really gives a schidt.

At least Bleed brings things to the board that a poster or two might be Iinterested in. Keep it up Bleed!!!

Sudapfly, once again you feel the need to provide criticism of my posts. I’m not sure why, but every few months you make me a target of your tantrums. And 100% of the time it’s to tell me to stop posting something on a topic you don’t think I should have posted about. When I see an article that I find somewhat interesting, I tend to post it. I try to be as descriptive with my post titles as possible. Since this was an article about Joker Phillips resigning his job due to a recruiting violation, I titled it “Former U assistant Joker Phillips resigns at Fla due to possible recruiting violation.”

That title did a few things: it was IMO, descriptive so that people that didn’t want more information, didn’t have to click on it. It also, as It’s A Pig Man! appropriately states, provides context to those that may not know who Joker is. Apparently you didn’t read or understand my thread title, as I can’t imagine anyone who doesn’t care about a topic would feel the need to click the topic and then proceed to write a 143 word response, but you did, and in your own words, to me that “makes no sense. Sorry, just doesn’t.”

But since you feel the need to regularly criticize my posts, I recommend just put me on the ignore list. That will make it less stressful to you.

All that being said, I should have just used your own words in the past few days in replying back to you:

Response #1 using your words from Tuesday: “umm....okay. thanks for playing. who pissed in your cheerios btw?” http://www.forums.gopherhole.com/bo...in-some-cool-prizes-too!)&p=897088#post897088

Response #2 using your words from this morning: “breathe. Just posted it for informational purposes. Don't overreact” http://www.forums.gopherhole.com/bo...flowing-to-other-networks&p=897570#post897570

Response #3 using your words from yesterday: “Man, some of you rubes will quite honestly complain about anything. smh....” http://www.forums.gopherhole.com/bo...E-Illinois-Kickoff-6-00pm&p=897400#post897400

This dude cares so little about this thread topic but he continues to click on the thread and post in the thread. smh....

Bleed, you are about 80% of why I read Gopherhole. Please do not change a thing.

You know it is the peak of the offseason when a thread like this happens. Train wreck.

Supaduper could have done what I did. Read the Op and the link, realized he was from years ago, and not currently affiliated with the Gophers, and put it aside.

Back to Joker Phillips ... since when is a possible recruiting violation at Florida (or any SEC school) grounds for resigning??
