per TheGazette:

Bryce Paup is returning to Northern Iowa.

UNI head football coach Mark Farley confirmed to the Gazette on Friday that Paup is back as defensive line coach, a role he held from 2013-2016 before joining P.J. Fleck’s Minnesota staff in the same position.

David Braun will move from defensive line coach to special teams coach. In addition, former Oklahoma running back Quentin Griffin has been named UNI running backs coach.

Paup played linebacker at UNI in the late 1980s and was selected in the sixth round of the 1990 NFL Draft, going on to an 11-year pro career with the Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars and Minnesota Vikings that included four Pro Bowl selections. He was first-team all-pro with Buffalo in 1995.

After nine years in the high-school coaching ranks, including six as Green Bay Southwest head coach, Paup first joined Farley’s UNI staff in 2013. Karter Schult (2015, 2016) and Xavier Williams (2013, 2014) were first-team all-conference during Paup’s first tenure.

Braun came to UNI to replace Paup after three years at UC-Davis. Paup left Minnesota in February after one season with the Gophers.

Go Gophers!!

This article said that Paup was leaving the Gophers to pursue an NFL coaching job: http://www.startribune.com/marcus-w...football-coaching-changes-continue/473029263/

West's role is to be determined, but he could replace pass rush specialist coach Bryce Paup, who according to multiple published reports is leaving the Gophers staff to pursue a coaching opportunity in the NFL.

I guess that didn't work out?

As a side note, the article mentioned Warrinner going to Michigan as an "analyst". But when I Googled that, it appears he was converted into the OL coach at Michigan not long after that. (https://www.freep.com/story/sports/...ffensive-line-coach-michigan-state/407860002/). The same article also links to a different article showing that Michigan had hired the former OC at Arkansas to be a position coach and possibly converted into OC, but that he left to be the QB coach at Alabama. So in turn they hired the former HC at Florida to be a position coach and likely converted into OC.

What a revolving door the P5 football coaching world is!

Also says that Warinner's son is a freshman LB at Michigan St. Conflict of interest??
