Grant Johnson, member of the 1937 Big Ten Conference Basketball Champs, passed away this week. Johnson was inducted in the Gopher Hall of Fame and was president of the M Club in the early 1950s. He was a teammate of John Kundla. John Kundla is the sole surviving member of the 1937 championship team.

Grant Johnson was a terrific administrator and state educator. He was our (Detroit Lakes) superintendent of schools from the early 1950s to 1965. He was fine gentleman who had a positive influence on many, many people during his public career.

RIP Grant Johnson.

Go Gophers!!
