@darrenwolfson: The #Gophers hoops team has added former FIU assistant coach Casey Stanley to their video staff. Looks like a nice get for Pitino.

Here is his bio:

Casey Stanley enters his second season on the FIU men’s basketball staff as an assistant coach.

In his first season with the Panthers, Stanley helped guide FIU to its first winning season (18-14) in 13 years; produce the most overall victories in 15 years; record the most Sun Belt Conference wins (11) since joining the league in 1998-1999; and make the program’s first-ever SBC Tournament finals, falling three points shy of earning a berth to the NCAA Tournament for just the second time in school history.

Stanley began the 2012-2013 season as the team’s director of basketball operations before moving into the role of assistant coach. Stanley came to FIU in 2012 after spending one season at the University of Louisville as assistant video coordinator.

“Casey Stanley worked with us at the University of Louisville and was the hardest worker in the program,” former FIU Head Coach Richard Pitino said. “He will be extremely organized and very meticulous with everything he does.”

Prior to his stint with Cardinals, Stanley for worked three seasons under former UofL Assistant Coach Kevin Willard, including the 2010-11 campaign as Seton Hall's Coordinator of Basketball Operations.

At Seton Hall, Stanley was responsible for video scouting and team travel, as well as running the day-to-day operations of the program. Stanley also operated as a producer for the Seton Hall Basketball television show, ran the Kevin Willard Basketball Camp and was the director of Seton Hall Basketball's Booster Club.

"Casey is one of the most hardworking and dedicated young men I've been around in college coaching," said Willard on Stanley.

Prior to coming to Seton Hall, Stanley spent two years as graduate assistant and video coordinator under Willard at Iona College, where he earned his bachelor's degree in political science in 2008.

At Iona, Stanley served on a staff that inherited a program that had won just two games the previous season. Only three seasons later, Iona finished with 21 wins, one of the biggest turnarounds in college basketball during that time period.
