Ok .. well here's one or two for the stats people.

First, here's the stats for our game yesterday.

Second, you can look up the refs and their trends.

If you highlight over each column the legend will appear.

I'm not sure how to search the refs on the website I had to get their names from the boxscore.

I'm not complaining about the officiating from last night. We dug ourselves a big enough hole from not coming out prepared to play. I will say we were 12 fouls over our average? Wow.

Have at it.

Sorry, just another note as I've been exploring that site a bit more. Click on the drop down menu for our schedule to see upcoming and past games.

Quite interesting:

Mike Sanzere: CAREER home bias 71.1 - 64.2, or +6.9 home bias. SEASON home bias 73.5 - 60.7, or +12.8

Curtis Shaw: CAREER home bias 74.1 - 66.1, or +8.0 home bias. SEASON home bias 68.7 - 62.5, or +6.2

Tom O'Neill: CAREER home bias 73.3 - 64.9, or +8.4 home bias. SEASON home bias 78.8 - 62.1, or +16.7

Now, these don't tell the whole story, as there are other factors involved, especially the whole non-conference schedule disparity, where big programs generally host lesser programs. So, because of that, these stats are incomplete. To get a true feeling of if a ref gives a home bias, one would have to look at only conference games, where the scheduling disparity is removed. That said, it's not hard to see that the home team gets somewhere around a 60-80% close call favor rate in conference games (and can depend on the "level of program" for the home team), and someone needs to explain (1) why this is and (2) why this is accepted by the NCAA, the conferences (esp. the horrible Big Ten), the schools, the players, and the fans.

I'm sure we won't have these guys Saturday but if we don't get some serious home cooking I'll be disappointed.

I'm still not sure why it's too much to ask that they just get rid of home-court bias altogether. It should not be an accepted practice. Disgusting.

In a word I'm not even sure how these guys can even look at themselves in the mirror.
