Thanksgiving is coming-up Thursday and along with the usual personal and family things to be thankful for, Gopher Fans should give a little thanks for what's going on over at the U. TCF Stadium, enhanced facilities, kids going to school, staying out of trouble and getting their degrees, a successful football season, possibly a very successful one and a Staff that looks like it's got a good chance of keeping that momentum going.

What is the major thing missing from that list: Fogo de Chao. Sure the Mall of America is usually mentioned by recruits when asked what impressed them during their visit but Fogo de Chao is ALWAYS mentioned. Recruits just love that place.

So here's to Brazil's most popular export and the major route to a recruit's heart, here's to Fogo de Chao.

Wait, we take our recruits to a crappy chain restaurant? I mean, I'm glad they like it and everything but the least we could do is bring them to one of the many GREAT restaurants (better than Fogo) that aren't located in 25 different cities across the nation.

You want to feed them great dead animals? Butcher and the Boar, or Manny's from my perspective.

Come from it as a 17 year-old.

An unlimited feedbag of meat. Heaven!!!!

don't really care about the Vadger perspective.

don't really care about the Vadger perspective.

Oh, is this a reference to me supposedly being a Badger fan and combining it with a reference to female genitalia? HYSTERICAL. I'll bet that really kills with your high-school educated buddys down at the union hall.

???

Maybe so, but your implications that I was insulting them is an admission by yourself that the term Vadgers is stupid.

Apologies to high-school educated people out there.

So what do you and positively4thstreet have planned for the holiday?

Fogo de Chao is amazing. Any guy would love to go there and eat for 2 hours. Especially a high schooler who can eat as much as humanly possible.

And the use of the word Vadger in place of Badger is about as common in Minnesota as lakes. A Gopher fan calls them Becky or the Vadgers. From incoming freshman to neurology PhD grads, they are common terms. Just saying

So you're implying that union members are dumb?

Exactly. Don't get me wrong - I personally love the more unique restaurants (plug to 112 Eatery), but unlimited meat is right up a 17-year old football player's alley.

When I ate at Fogo I went on a soup diet for the next 3 days. Their food also has a very high salt content .Great for recruits though.

Fogo is excellent and what any football player wants. They could care less about those trendy spots, that some of these food snobs push.

Even if the recruit is vegan or something goofy, that salad bar is incredible!

When you go to Fogo don't eat the salad bar, it's a trap! It's only there to distract you from eating as much meat as possible.

Huh? Soup often has a very high salt content...

Okay, I just wanted to be argumentative about something. ;-)

If you're getting "as much meat as possible" some roughage would be a very good idea.

Happy Thanksgiving!

It was spendy for dinner at I think if my memory serves me right $48 per person before the drinks arrived. I loved the salad bar, and will check that out first. I went meatless for a whole week after that. I ought to consider staying over at the hotel closest to Fogo next time I go there. I ran for the next five straight days to burn off the dinner.

There is no doubt that is a good place to bring recruits to for dinner.
