Florida's starting lineup and their original recruiting rankings:

Well, 4 of the 5 are transfers. They auditioned elsewhere.
Condon is from Australia and 7 feet tall...so you develop those guys....he was a freshman recruit.
Chinyelu is from Nigeria.
Supposedly? foreign recruits can't receive NIL
Geno has been in 16 of the last 17 Final Fours. That is insane.
Gopher men have won two NCAA tournament games in 28 years.
Geno is big on foreign players...gratitude, willingness to be coached, no NIL.
Maybe we could go to school...? Follow the blueprint. Florida has two foreign country players in the starting lineup.

From Google info:

NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) deals have opened doors for NCAA athletes to monetize their image, BUT, international student-athletes on F-1 visas face significant hurdles in participating in NIL due to visa restrictions and the potential for violating their visa status.

International students' visas limit them to on-campus and limited off-campus employment at their institution.
The NCAA Bylaws prohibit payment for work not performed….which most NIL is defined as….therefore, they would lose their visa status and be forced to return home.
I’m sure it is complicated and abused but it is a source for of cheaper talent if people follow the rules.

So much wrong in a tweet of just a few words.

There is no such thing as a zero-star recruit. They were never evaluated and thus don't have a rating. Clayton, for example, not only didn't have "zero stars," but also he had at least 3 Division I offers, including one from some nobody named Rick Pitino. Ever heard of him, MaxPreps?

Stars are ratings, not rankings, a word they (incorrectly) used twice.

Other than that, great tweet, MaxPreps!

The first 4 lines of this post make sense...not sure what the rest has to do with anything.

It's the hey - they used some foreign players, Geno also uses foreign players- maybe we should try it angle. Actually, I like the strategy. Gonzaga has gotten some pretty good ones over the years as have a lot of the smaller schools.

What a bunch of crap. The only thing that has to change is the college asking it be a joint H1B and student visa. Every bit of this has a solution. Don't be like one of the people who fret about things. It is all in the desire to do. None of this is original or new.

I remember seeing an interview with Matt Painter where he said that the reason they were able to keep Zach Eden is they didn’t have to pay him NIL because of his Canadian citizenship and visa status. I don’t know if schools are finding a way around that now… But it wouldn’t surprise me.

We say we have no money....seems a like a pretty effective work around.

I have no problem with using foreign players...but what does Geno have to do with a discussion about Florida and who they brought in which is what the misleading tweet referenced? Last I checked Todd Golden coaches Florida...

Two national champions utilize foreign players to NIL benefit and for other reasons.
And Geno's accomplishments are such a contrast of what is possible with the right person versus the desert the Gophers have been wandering through.
