Florida pounded Florida State today.....not really a surprise I guess, but to see that FSU only scored 15 and were down by 20 at the half is discouraging. This team is now 4-4 with all their losses coming on their home court. The big gopher road win is looking less impressive by the day.

+1

Richmond (beat Wake Forrest), Stanford and Memphis (beat a good Ohio team) have been winning. The FSU win was too easy, for them to be a good team. Florida is really good.

OT: Texas is really struggling without their point guard, Kabongo

Florida State is a mess. I'm afraid we won't be looking at it as a good win come March. On the bright side, at least it won't be a bad loss!

FSU is a mess, but Florida is really, really good. Still I think FSU will end up a middling ACC team. It's not going to be some signature win. But it won't be garbage. For once, I truly hope it doesn't matter come Selection Sunday outside of deciding if we got jobbed getting a #3 instead of a #4.

Depends on how you look at it. If Florida is as good as people are saying, I actually think this outcome reflects positively. That game was pretty close to what we did to FSU. Florida led 30-15 with three minutes left in the half. MN led 35-20 with three minutes left in the half. FLA stretched it to 20 at half, we led by 13 at half. FLA led by as many as 31 in the 2nd half, MN led by as many as 21 in the 2nd half. We led by 17 in that game with 3:00 left and they hit some garbage points to get it to single digits, but we thoroughly dominated that game for 37 minutes.

I know there are a lot of variables, but all we can do is look at the two games, and I think the outcomes put us on a similar (albeit lower) level as #6 Florida and that is a positive (at least to me).

Yes, it's disappointing the FSU win isn't looking as good as we thought it might, but any true road win is a good win. I'll still take one every single time.

And ditto what TJ said. Both the Gophers and Florida whipped FSU's tail. Neither game was very competitive. Florida's whooping was just more thorough. The Gators & Gophers both made it abundantly clear that Leonard Hamilton has a lot of issues to figure out before the ACC season starts.
