Minnesota: P.J. Fleck ($275,000)
  • $75,000: Sixth win, non-CFP bowl game
  • $100,000: Clinch at least a tie for Big Ten division title
  • $50,000: Big Ten coach of the year by coaches
  • $50,000: Win bowl game over Power Five conference team

Thanks for the link, WindyCityGoph.
I find it interesting that winning 6 of 12 games gets most of these guys a bonus. I always thought that was average. We need to raise the bar.
I did not see any bonuses for grades/grad rate.

Do PJ Fleck's assistants get bonuses? If not, will PJ FLeck share his largesse with his coaches?

IMO - NO HC should make above 4mill a year. I know that a good/great FB team supports many of the other sports programs for a university. MOST of ALL sports loses money for the colage with the exception of about 20 programs! Still the main purpose of a university is to educate the minds of the students for their future success. The universities could cap the HC salary at 4 mill, and give more to the assistant coaches. The HC is NO BETTER than the coaches under him!

4 mil max for a HC? Meh, we have posters on here that get $1M raises.

I'm sure your right & thats GREAT, but these are supposed to be Universities whos primary mission is to EDUCATE their students to make a better life for themselves for their entire future & do the same..

VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION! Fleck is as only good as the staff under him and should want to keep that winning staff in place!

Bidding wars for educators has probably always existed. PJ Fleck is a football coach and an educator. I'd say he pulls weight for the university better than most do.

This is true GS. Still while HC of a FB team is a teacher & he teaches a sport and hopefully ethics as all teachers should. The thing is that the football team has 85 full scholarships while many STUDENDS dont get a full ride but still work their @ss off to obtain their degree. For those students them having excellent math, Language Arts and their primary curriculum is just as important for their future.

School is important to PJ. He talks about it every time he speaks publicly.

That's a great number as it should be. He is looking at both the football teams progress and their academics. Still the heads of each department are doing the same thing. You also have to remember that sports players get a lot more leeway with turning in their work and tutoring.
