Fleck presser

Punter Crawford has added four yards, has added .2 hang time.

Kicker Kesich has grown leaps and bounds....huge leg you've seen on kickoffs...made himself into a really good, solid reliable kicker....confident kid....football player kicking

Really like our return game.

Really, really like our special teams beyond specialists.

JLR going to be one of best players in conference by end of the year.

Nathan Boe has grown exponentially.

Definitely think we're better on pass rush. Will rotate 8-9 guys oin d-line. Going against our d-line has made o-line better.

Athan didn't throw on just that one open practice.

Zero concussions in camp. Like the Guardian helmet caps.

Will use more than just five "starters" on o-line...I think he means rotating guys in (not a six man front)

Not releasing any injury info.

Return game is hidden gold waiting to shine.

Amazing how Athan just happened to not throw the ball on the one practice that was open to reporters.

"Sorry guys, it's out of my hands! Trainers came down from nowhere and said he had to rest his arm. We had no idea! Nothing I can do."

Such a crock. Whatever. It's Fleck's standard anti-media/anti-fans win at all cost Fort Knox mentality. Ain't gonna change.

on the "injuries" thing - Fleck said that the B1G "has something coming out - maybe right before the game."

anyone know what he was talking about?

I know the B1G has promoted the idea of a national injury reporting system.

Is Coke no longer a sponsor!? Fleck always seemed to purposefully aligns the logo on his can during his pressers

Yes, It’s expected that Big Ten will require teams to release a “players availability” a few hours before each conference game.

Not exactly sure when this will be in place.

Three things that the Gophers need to figure out or improve:

1. Figure out the Illini disguised defensive scheme.
2. The Huskers’ 3-3-5 Defense is new and potentially will be a challenge.
3. Those head-scratching home losses.

Why isn't something like that worn in actual games? Even a 1/2" of dense rubber would significantly reduce a helmet-to-helmet collision.
"It looks dumb" is probably a big factor, unfortunately.

I don't remember if this tech has made it to football yet, but my snowboard helmet has "MIPS" technology in it to help reduce rotational forces on my head and it makes me feel a lot safer when snowboarding.

Honestly I feel like the reason we aren't going full blown "car crumple zone" or "F1 the car disintegrates around the driver" with helmets is the fact that if we did we'd have too many players having to switch out helmets after every play.

As others believe, it's setting up some sort of revenue through a sportsbook in the future.

Jury is still out if they actually help.
Park high school is wearing them for games this season. NFHS rules allow them to be worn. Modifying a manufacturer’s helmet could create interesting litigation if there is a catastrophic injury.

I read on another site that the player unavailability report must be released 2 hours before game time.

What was he suppose to say ”he is injured”? which, by the way, neighbors boyfriend says is true.

He was injured just one day, out of all of fall camp days, and it happened to be the day open to reporters? I don't buy it.

Not worth arguing about because we can't prove anything.

Trainers told him to rest =\= injured. In this day and age, a LOT more effort is put into proactively preventing injuries rather than just properly taking care of them when they happen.
