Fleck Press Conference on Class

The Transfer Portal is the very best friend of programs like Minnesota.

Take all conference guys off smaller programs, give 4* guys from top programs a fresh start, and seldom lose anyone they really wanted to keep.

Portal is great for Gophers while NIL is not so good

Lots of difficult conversations, but it's a new era of building a roster. Can't imagine carrying 5 QBs or as many punters/kickers as in the past.
Yeah, for better or worse, it needs to be more cutthroat in both directions.

I'd agree. Looking like 3-4 QB's now and maybe one backup kicker/punter. Need those roster spots. Plus with the QB if you are not playing you are leaving.

was watching a Tony Leibert video where he was looking at a prospective depth chart for next season. it was a little sobering looking at the list - especially at OL and WR. Gophers either need a lot of players on the current roster to show significant improvement - or they need to go heavy in the portal at both positions.

I will note that Leibert's depth chart did not have Quinn Carroll on the OL - but I've seen conflicting reports on whether Carroll plans to return (I think he has 1 year of eligibility left).

as far as the incoming HS players, Leibert seemed to think that the CB from New Jersey - Naiim Parrish - might have the best shot at getting on the field next Fall.
