Congrats Tubby and the Gophs as that is a LONG drought. We've had some very good teams in that time span that haven't been able to do what we did today.

To get outscored by 17 points in the final 8 minutes but still hold on for a 2 point win, means you gotta build a 19 point lead on the road against a likely NCAA tournament team. Sure the meltdown sucked (again) but we come out on the fun side of it. That has to be a big relief for the guys on the team and the staff. After the devestating way we lost the Purdue game, I never expected a W today on the road.

Go Gophers!!

I still remember the game at Assembly Hall in '97. That Gopher team got absolutely screwed.

I thought the team would play terrible today after the Purdue loss, so I have to give the players and staff a to of credit for coming out with a strong effort. It's really too bad that they could not finish off the blowout and the game ended so ugly.

Regardless of how it happened...it was a huge win today. Let's be happy we came out of Champaign w/a W.

and when was the last one that counted?

I believe the 1996 win did count. It was the next season that got wiped from the record books. The last win before that at Illinois was in 1978. The Gophers win there about as often as they win at Purdue.

Last win at Illinois that is actually in the books

February 16, 1978

Now that's a drought.
