Fingernail Clipping

I’ve come to learn that there are there approaches:
1. Cut the edges, leaving a point and then clipping the point
2. Clip the center and then clipping the edges
3. Start on one edge, working your way to the other edge while keeping the nail intact until the final clip.
I was am an option 1 guy, but moved to option 3. On two occasions I’d clipped a nail and it flew into my eye. Total pain to get that thing out, as due to the blinking it falls down to the bottom of your eye, so you’ve got to dig to get it out.
 

You’re right. This topic deserves its own thread. According to OSHA, nail clipping shares similar hazards with metals machining and requires the use of UL listed safety eyewear. Thx for posting this public service alert. ✌
 

I have always waited until my nails are big enough for my band saw. But, I have always had trouble using my boogie board to move around the blade.
 


My second option is to let it become an ingrown toenail. Then I borrow my neighbors jaw for life and bolt cutter. Sometimes, going big is all you can do.
