No I'm not thinking of the old re-run of the Purdue game

Today:

4 PM - rerun of last years Wisc game

5 PM - 1 hour discussion on the BTN West.

MN-IA or MN-MI too dang much to ask for?! BTN is a joke..

Interesting on the B1G West edition that neither Gerry or Howard picked the Gophers to be in the top 2 in the West. Gerry had them at 3 and Howard at 4 (going to assume 4...it was only a top 3 and I can't imagine he'd have them worse than 4th). Considering these guys make the rounds to each school during spring/fall camp and should have a great deal of insight...this take was interesting.

It seems to me they were basing a lot of it on who everyone played in crossover games. We have the toughest with OSU and Michigan.

Out of curiosity, who did Howard have in 3rd ahead of us? I suppose Iowa has the benefit of getting division crossover games against probably 2 of the 3 worst teams in the East, but I guess I sort of thought everyone had Minnesota, Nebraska, and Wisconsin as the top 3 in some order.

I think one could argue that Illinois's crossovers with Ohio State and Penn State could be a slightly bigger obstacle in the Illini's path to Indianapolis :D

They will not replay the game that Hoke played a player that could have been seriously injured.

Hoke should have been fired after that game if Illinois can fire a coach a week before the season started. He put a kid who was obviously concussed into a game even for one play it jeopardized that kids health And such BTN would not replay such a beat down for the kids protection

How does BTN's contract with ESPN work? I know they show the games in the week after they happen, but for the most part, they only replay ESPN/ABC games from years ago.

Looking through the list of games aired in the next couple days, I see:

Illinois at Ohio State - 11/10/07
Ohio State vs. Oregon - 1/1/10
Michigan at Ohio State - 11/29/14
2011 B1G Championship: Wisconsin vs. Michigan State - 12/3/11
Notre Dame at Michigan - 9/10/11
Michigan at Ohio State - 11/18/06
Notre Dame at Michigan State - 9/18/10
Minnesota at Wisconsin - 11/29/14
Michigan vs. Florida - 1/1/08
Wisconsin at Illinois - 10/6/07
Penn State at Iowa - 11/8/08

Only one of those - Michigan at Ohio State, 11/29/14 - is an ABC/ESPN game from the past three seasons. Everything else aired on FOX or BTN, or is more than 3 years old.

I wonder if their contract with ESPN allows them to re-air games for a certain amount of time (a couple weeks?), and then they become exclusive ESPN property for a time before getting opened back up again (and perhaps they paid add'l for the rights to that Michigan-Ohio State game?). Seems convoluted and I'm likely wrong, but that would explain why Iowa and Michigan from last season aren't replayed.

I don't get the love Iowa is getting from some people. You never know with them, but their fans seem to think it could be pretty bad.

Maybe people are anticipating the fact that Iowa is best when nobody thinks they will be anything special. Personally, I'm more scared of dark horse Iowa than hyped Iowa.
