Led by redshirt freshman quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis, Minnesota traveled to Camp Randall Stadium and ruined Wisconsin’s senior day and took the luster off Jim Leonhard’s seven-game résumé as interim head coach by rallying for 10 fourth-quarter points and a 23-16 victory.
Kaliakmanis, replacing injured starter Tanner Morgan for the third consecutive week, capped the comeback with a 45-yard touchdown pass with 3 minutes 40 seconds remaining.
"When you lose the axe, it is devastating," senior offensive lineman Tyler Beach said. "It is a hard loss… It sucks. It hurts everyone.
