The Big Ten remains at a bracket-best 9 tournament bids in this week’s Field of 68 projection, but Maryland – which ripped off 4 wins this past week – has replaced the Gophers in the field. The Gophers are the second team out. They are joined in the “first 4 out” by Richmond (first team out), Xavier, and back-from-the-dead Duke, which beat Virginia to revive its tournament hopes.
There are 10 new teams in this week’s field: Cleveland State (Horizon Tournament #1 seed); Colorado State (at-large); James Madison (Colonial auto bid); Maryland (at-large); Monmouth (MAAC auto bid); Saint Bonaventure (at-large); Stanford (at-large); UTRGV (WAC auto bid); Wagner (NEC auto bid); and Wichita State (American auto bid).
An * denotes the leader in a multiple-bid conference or -- in the event of a standings tie -- the team with the best NET ranking (noted in parentheses).
