ROAD TO SELECTION SUNDAY, MN – The completion of Week 8 brings 6 new teams to the field: Georgia, Liberty, New Mexico, Northern Colorado, UCF, and Villanova.
The SEC, though holding the worst head-to-head record vs. the other Power5 conferences (+ Gonzaga), leads the way with 10 projected bids. I have begrudgingly added NET #22 Georgia to the field with its zero Quad 1 wins, 1 Quad 2 win, and despite the fact eight of the Bulldogs’ 12 opponents are of the Quad 4 variety.
Automatic qualifiers in multiple-bid conferences (noted with an *) hold the best conference record or, in the event of a tie, best NET ranking (in parentheses).
