In my estimation the Gophers should now be considered a bubble team, but they're still not in immediate danger. My guess has them about 5-6 spots away from the "cut line", so to speak.
With regards to the Big 10, Illinois, Michigan State, Ohio State and Purdue are locks (barring late-season meltdowns), while the Gophers, Wisconsin and Michigan all are positioned to earn a bid. Penn State is still in the mix, but the Nitts clearly are a longshot at this point. With Northwestern's two excruciating home losses last week, the Wildcats are no longer on my at-large board. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the Gophers' game in Ann Arbor on Thursday could go a long way in deciding which team will look better in the eyes of the Selection Committee.
