A big part of what makes this site fun are our visitors from other teams that like to stir the pot. My favorite of course are those poor souls who actually believe they can show up on our site and reason out why they are better than us and are bewildered at the less than friendly response.

Having said that, I enjoy having them here as it porvides me with never ending fun. After all what good is pointing out the Wisconsin sucks if they are not here to exemplify such a fine statement of fact.

And so who are our favorite Trolls of 2009.



My vote for his strange devotion to this site in a valliant effort to actually belong: GVBadger.

A closet Gopher if ever there was one.

Some guy named GOVIKESGo called me a Packers/Badgers lover? I am not ashamed to say that I bleed maroon/gold and Vikes purple. Hell, I even watch the Twolves from time to time!
 

I loved the brief run of the Montana fan who came in here after they beat SDSU in the playoffs and challenged us to a game.

Other than that, the classics. GVBadger and GopherGod aren't quite trolls but they are close. ArtVandelay is even closer. I can't remember if Lawrence21 was allowed to post at all this year or if he was banned before the year started (I'm pretty sure Brewrecruit is lawrence21...his stout support of the star ranking system as the be all end all of measuring skill backs it up). I would love to find out who any of these people are on the other side of the computer screen.
 

I grudgingly like GV; therefore, he would have to be my favorite troll. He does try to fit in here and, to some extent, I have to respect that. I mean, I can't dislike anyone that gives money to GH and he generally does a good job of keeping it real and not bashing the Gophers for the sake of bashing the Gophers. He may be a snake and using everything here on Buckyville, but I don't go to that site so really wouldn't know.

As far as least favorite troll of opposing teams: sfbadger's contributions are as trite as tripe can be so he gets my vote.

There is a Gopher fan on this board who is legitimately my least favorite, but I'll follow Reagan's 11th Commandment and not speak ill of any fellow Gopher fan.
 



I'm torn. If any of the trolls get hit by a bus, then they can be my favorite troll. :D

They probably get hit by parked cars though...

Did you hear about Lakes locking his keys in the car? He was pretty upset, the top was down and it was starting to rain.
 

The montana guy is the troll i thought was funniest.


GV is starting to grow on me. All his posts, as i look through my maroon and gold glasses, are either funny to me or insightful. No inbetween.

Are we voting on the best of the best, the best of the worst, the worst of the best or the worst of the worst?

I'd have to take many off of ignore, to read past posts and form any judgement.

But, LakesDooshBison, MylesLong and GVBadger are pretty pesky.
 

I would say MilesLong as my Vadger troll choice. GVBadger is too similar to a lot of posters I actually like on this board. He's missing that crass attitude that is reminiscent of regular 'sconnies, which leads me to agree with what was said above about him being a closet Gopher fan.

The term "favorite troll" is kind of an oxymoron in motion for me. Having said that, there are plenty of options. Heck, sfbadger was basically openly auditioning for the spot before this thread was even 10 posts long. Because of that, we may want to break down the "favorite troll" into categories such as "favorite Minnesota troll", "favorite Wisconsin troll", and "favorite Iowa troll." Of course, "favorite Montana troll" (can't believe I even said that!) obviously goes to Dick Head.

Other than that, I don't have much to say on this other than to let others more well versed in internet trolling make the call on this one. I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.
 



Assuming that the Loon, Wren and Art Vandalay are on the lifetime achievement list for this award, I would say that UpNorthGo4, Studwell55 and dpoll68 should be up there for nominations to this award.

Cmon kids, smile, I LIVE IN MINNESOTA! I was in stink forks and fought a hole UND fans when Goophers lost to holy cross.

While he's not necessarily a Troll, I love it when Delta Hawg contributes to the Hole. He's actually gotten me interested in Arkansas football, much like he is interested in Gopher Football. DH contributes REAL college football information and Insight unlike the other "visitors" on this site. Here's to you Delta! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
 

If Delta Hog qualifies as a troll (which I don't think he does) then he is definately is my favorite.

But for stating that BB "Grew as a coach and as a person" I have to vote for GV. That line makes me chuckle everytime I think about it.

Hmm...three mentions on the "best poster" thread vs. one on the "favorite troll" thread. I think I'll take it. Especially when the latter comes from someone who is (at least ostensibly) an adult and still thinks piss jokes are funny.
 


This is a hard category with about as many definitions as the number of people reading the thread. I guess my personal definition of a troll is someone who misrepresents himself to stir the pot. They aren't "regulars" but either hit and run visitors or people posing to be other people who post comments just to piss others off.

Since I don't pay attention to Trolls (using my personal definition of them), I am only left with "regulars" that tend to always post things that bug or annoy me. Art ranks up there. So does Upchurch (no idea if he has posted anything lately). In terms of our Wisconsin regulars... all are fun to read and although they are often posting items to annoy us, I get a kick out of them and somehow they actually do add to the "community" here. Myles is funny because he is sort of like Jeckel and Hyde... there is a nice, respectful guy in there but there is also a kid-like quality with knee jerk comments of childish name calling. I have a feeling I'd enjoy kicking him in the nuts, and then sharing a beer with him, or the other way around.
 

The biggest tool is gophermaniac. He never posted after a Gopher win, but posted incessant bile after a Gopher loss. Absolutely no contribution whatsoever.
