Michigan will try and throw there weight around. Hopefully the Gophers can bring the pain, and hit that freshman QB a lot. If the Gophers Oline ties em on and tightens those chin straps, hopefully Smith and Brooks and even McCray can pound the rock, eat clock, and grind out a win. ROW AND HIT EM ALL GAME LONG. Ski U Meh Gophers.

It will be physical I believe. Chip on the shoulder for both teams. Hopefully they can rattle the freshman QB. Go Gophers!

When has this team hit the other teams quarterback? Against a poor team, sure, but not against a team like Michigan.

Unfortunately, they have the muscle and speed to hit OUR rookie QB. Croft will be running for his life. Michigan will probably do what we would like to do: run it and control the clock, with just enough passing to make the running work. Without Peters, this might have been a close game. Michigan also has more big play potential than we do, but one of these weeks we are going to break out against somebody.

Hate to quibble, but is there a non-physical football game?

I understand that some teams are more finesse-based, but no matter the style, there is hitting, blocking and tackling, and typically some injuries result. It's not like 5th-graders playing flag football in the park & rec league.

Might be more accurate to say you are expecting a game that is more physical than usual.

Ski U "Meh" is extremely appropriate.

Well, mission accomplished for PJ. The fan base is nearly totally demoralized (although some were there before opening day) - hopefully the guys have enough pride to play for each other today. Coach gets to play the Phoenix rising from the ashes card in future years. This isn't an elite Michigan team. A few bounces go our way, take shot shots on offense and defense...if they can't get excited to play under the lights at Michigan something is wrong.

LOL...dangit, I was reading the thread excitedly hoping I was the first to pick up on that typo!

Seriously though, it is an appropriate Freudian slip right now. I've totally lost the fire for this season, and I'm guessing many other fans have as well. I still love watching each game, but I'm not counting down the days all week like in previous seasons. At this point, I'm more of an interested observer than a fanatic. I think MN has a chance to beat Nebraska -- maybe about a 35 or 40% chance -- but other than that, I don't see much reason for excitement the next four weeks. Sucks, as FB season is much too short to experience it like that...
