Couldn't have said it any better myself. I have found ESPN's self promotion of the BPI (particularly Jay Bilas, who I like) quite hysterical. Quite often Big Brother (ESPN) gets way too big for its britches, and that's the case with Bilas' BPI.
I fully understand that the RPI is not the be-all and end-all of measuring teams, but the amount of ridicule it (and the the Selection Committee) receives is not warranted. Bilas knows darn well that the Selection Committee DOESN'T JUST LOOK AT TEAMS' RPI, but that's what he wants his audience to believe when he's pimping his BPI.
