What's even more depressing than the loss to NMSU is most Gopher fans over-reactions on this board.
Nobody likes a loss, but really, put it in perspective.
Saying that we should have trounced NMSU is ridiculous. NMSU played hard & won the game under duress in a hostile environment. The chasm between the haves & the have-nots isn't that large in modern college football, & clearly both teams are in the same category, & both teams were fairly evenly matched.
Both teams are similar in trying to improve & be competitive, & were in it to win it until the end.
The Gophers didn't get blown out, they didn't give up, & they kept competing til the very end, which is a good sign.
Great expectations lead to great disappointments.
So all you fans that are over-reacting, it's on you, so own it.
