What's even more depressing than the loss to NMSU is most Gopher fans over-reactions on this board.
Nobody likes a loss, but really, put it in perspective.
Saying that we should have trounced NMSU is ridiculous. NMSU played hard & won the game under duress in a hostile environment. The chasm between the haves & the have-nots isn't that large in modern college football, & clearly both teams are in the same category, & both teams were fairly evenly matched.
Both teams are similar in trying to improve & be competitive, & were in it to win it until the end.
The Gophers didn't get blown out, they didn't give up, & they kept competing til the very end, which is a good sign.

Great expectations lead to great disappointments.
So all you fans that are over-reacting, it's on you, so own it.
The Gophers didn't give up, & neither should you.

the majority of posters are NOT over-reacting. people are justifiably upset at the performance yesterday and that's ok. i haven't seen a single post from anyone saying they aren't fans anymore, are going to cancel their tickets etc. we lost at home to a team we should beat under any circumstance. yes the program is going through an overhaul and it will take time to rebuild. but we are upset we lost to a team that is flat out bad and that's it. people are not giving up but if it makes you feel better to say that we are over-reacting than have at it.

Ohio dominated NMSU @ NM last week. Ran the ball at will. NMSU is horrible and will likely win 1 more game all year.

So this loss is actually more depressing than most here admit.
