Don't know if this has been brought up, but ESPN did a 2.5 hour special on all the bowls. Jesse Palmer gave his predictions on all 34 games, each with a number weighted on how confident he felt in his pick. Palmer picked the Gophers...and weighted them at #1, his least confident pick.
 

I saw that too. Hard to blame him, this is pretty much a toss up. Makes me feel more confident that he picked the Gophers though.

I hope it doesn't make you too much more confident. He said that choice was based on a coin flip.
 

He didn't mention anything about nine senior defensive starters or the improved special teams play. Oh well, I do think this matchup favors the Gophers but it is basically a toss-up.
 

I watched that too and the cynic in me said that the ESPN crew paid very little attention to the game which will be on the NFL Network (as will the rest of the nation - unfortunately for the teams in this bowl). They had to pick a winner but put about zero thought into it.
