ESPN's Bennett on Gophers: "I do think Minnesota will be sneaky good this year."

In his Q&A, Bennett discuss fun matchups if the BT/SEC ever developed a "challenge" like Bielema suggested. Per Bennett:

@UofMKirwin12: @BennettESPN If this hypothetical B1G/SEC challenge were to take place THIS season-what would you want the matchups to be for each team?

Minnesota vs. Georgia: The Golden Gophers' top two tailbacks, Shannon Brooks and Rodney Smith, are from Georgia. That's not much, but I do think Minnesota will be sneaky good this year.

Go Gophers!!

I've always commented about just how smart and knowledgeable Brian Bennett is.

"precise route runners" -- sounds like the FedEx guy

I could have sworn he was a hack who knew nothing about football. Right?

You new here?

Over the past number of years, Bennett has been the most measured and reasonable guy from ESPN writing about Gopher football.

5 years ago? I wasn't a fan, but he's clearly shown that he's paying attention.

Yeah, early on it was obvious he didn't know anything about some of the "lesser" programs like the Gophers. He's been 10x better since then.
