Here is where each Big Ten coach stands nationally in salary, according to the database:

With Rutgers coming over he will be 12th of 14.
 

Fitzgerald is probably the best value on the list. Although Urban is worth every penny he receives.

Pretty much even with NW and Indiana coach, so roughly tied for 9th out of 12 teams. Seems fair for a 1st time BCS coach at a non-FB powerhouse school. Iowa coach making out pretty good, but I guess he has had some good success...
 

I honestly wouldn't fault Illinois if they fired Tim Beckman after one season. I might eat crow, but the guy reminds me of Tim Brewster with a better resume. He was not left a terrible team and he's turned them into the worst team in the B1G and one of the worst BCS conference schools.
