Brian Bennett: Minnesota RB Shannon Brooks
Since returning from a preseason foot injury two weeks ago, Bennett has gotten right back to his explosive ways. A sophomore, he has run for 185 yards on just 27 carries in two games, an average of nearly 7 yards per carry. Minnesota's offense stalled in the second half and overtime of last week's loss at Penn State, so it makes sense to give Brooks more opportunities in this week's Floyd of Rosedale game against Iowa. The Hawkeyes have had trouble containing opposing running games of late; North Dakota State rushed for 239 yards and Northwestern's Justin Jackson gashed them for 171 yards on 26 carries last week. Brooks could be the next tailback to hurt Iowa.
