per ESPN:

Utah running back Ty Jordan has died, the school announced on Saturday.

The Denton Police Department in Texas told ESPN that its officers responded to a shooting call at 10:38 p.m. ET on Friday. Officers discovered a gunshot victim who had been shot one time. After applying life-saving measures, the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

"Following a preliminary investigation, we do believe that this was an accidental shooting, where the victim accidentally shot himself," Denton Police Department public information officer Allison Beckwith told ESPN.

Go Gophers!!

His cousin doesn’t think it was accidental or self inflicted.

Care to elaborate? The few stories I have looked at don't mention a cousin or any sort of potential foul play at this point.

Tragic story, especially if it does turn out it was accidental.

Hmmm...website took it down. There was a quote from a cousin about how some people were jealous of his success and intimated it was a murder, not an accident.

It’s a shame that there is that kind of suspicion. It’s bad enough that his family has to suffer from this tragic event and then to also have to deal with the uncertainty of his death would just compound the grief. What a truly tragic incident. To be named PAC 12 Freshman offensive POY shows what a talent and bright future he had ahead of him.

What kind of stupid assumption is that... Insert some other occupation or race and people like you are what is wrong with this world.
Except for when one uses the term ‘coppers’ the author usually riffing cuz it’s not a 1930’s Cagney movie.
