The Big Ten and the ACC both recently announced agreements with the Pinstripe Bowl in New York and will match up at Yankee Stadium every December from 2014-19. The tie-in bowl is just part of a push by both conferences to increase their profiles in the coveted New York market. The ACC on Monday welcomed Syracuse as a new member and held several announcements, complete with mascots, in New York City. Next July, the Big Ten will add Rutgers as a new member as it pushes for a bigger presence in the northeast corridor.

Both leagues will have a year-round marketing presence at Yankee Stadium, including fixed signs on the facade.

With the Big Ten and the ACC both gunning for Gotham, today's Take Two topic is: Which league will establish a bigger presence in the New York market? ACC blogger Andrea Adelson and Big Ten blogger Adam Rittenberg debate.

Go Gophers!!

Michigan, OSU, PSU, Rutgers, MD >>>>>>> Syracuse, Pitt, Notre Dame plus any 10 schools of your choice in the NYC/NJ area. Are you kidding? ACC in NYC as a force? Not.

ACC-B1G Challenge

Any chance the challenge is changed to play all games at MSG to take advantage of the NYC market and try and build brands?

Would be cool to have an annual non-conference game at MSG.

Would be 4 awesome days of college basketball...make the preseason and holiday tournaments look like wannabes.

Since it is just a neutral ground game and not a tournament, shouldn't be an issue with NCAA.

I would be there in a heart beat.

If not MSG then the new Brooklyn Nets arena.

They could definitely do marquee double headers at Barclays/MSG but moving the whole thing is doubtful, attendance wouldn't be great for some of the lower tier games.

No doubt the B1G and the ACC would love to see the Indiana vs North Carolina, and Ohio State vs Syracuse like games in the Big Apple though.

Why do people want to take away the home marquee games.

Should we move the Big Ten game of the week to NYC also?

Why? Because if we can get BTN on basic cable in the NYC market, then we get way more $$$ than a home game against FSU. A lot more money.

If we moved all our home games there we could charge a lot higher prices and make a lot more money. Who needs the home town fans anyway.

Yes, you are so right Station 19, how could I be so stupid. Thank the glory of 19 for sharing his wisdom with us. How could moving one out of conference game (which is an away game every other year) to the largest most powerful media market in the US not be EXACTLY like moving the entire effing team to NYC and screwing all our home town fans.

Anyone else think GopherinPhilly is suddenly giving Parsnips a heck of a run for most obnoxious poster?
