per ESPN:

On Tuesday, the NCAA certified a record 42 bowl games for the 2015 season. If it's up to Paul Sergeant, there will be a 43rd bowl game in 2016 -- held in Melbourne, Australia.

Sergeant, CEO of Melbourne Stadiums Limited, is part of a group proposing to host a bowl game at Etihad Stadium in Australia next season, featuring teams from the Pac-12 and Mountain West.

Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott declined comment, but a league spokesman said the league "continues to have discussions about additional bowl opportunities."

"Kangaroo Bowl"
"Down Under Bowl"
"Crocodile Dundee Bowl"
"Mad Max Bowl"

Interesting concept. Have they thought through the 11 hour time zone difference? Either the people at the game or the viewers back here are still gonna be hung over at opening kickoff. Probably why they're going with west coast teams to minimize the time shift. Also, airfare is damned expensive from the USA to Australia. I just booked tix to Sydney for this Christmas. We used frequent flyer miles, largely because airfare was $2200pp and up. It's also a 15 hour flight from LAX. I can't imagine, though, how expensive tickets would be at the last minute, since they won't announce the teams until December

But knowing Aussies, if there's enough beer involved they'd probably attend. It's a wonderful country to visit, too.

I've got the 3rd quarter song covered..........no need for a thread.

This reminds me...

The Australian kiss.

Same as a French kiss only it's down under.

I'll be waiting for the SunCountry cheap tix.
