First game: 10/24 vs. Michigan
Most important game: 11/28 at Wisconsin
Overall takeaways: P.J. Fleck's Gophers are considered the biggest challenger to Wisconsin in the Big Ten West. They're going to be losing the school's all-time all-purpose yardage leader in Rodney Smith, but star wide receiver Rashod Bateman has re-enrolled and hopes to play in 2020. The best news schedule-wise for Minnesota is that Ohio State is nowhere to be seen on it.

Go Gophers!!

Wisconsin is most important IMO as this season most predictions are going to place us or them as the west division champs, so the winner of the game is likely the division champ.

Second most important for us IMO is Iowa. They could easily upset our season. This is followed closely by our opener vs Michigan. Winning could give us some great momentum and make a statement early, but losing isn't as bad as losing to Iowa since it's a crossover game.

Personally I think the most important game is the first game of the season. Kind of sets the tone etc. against a typically good Michigan team.

Every game is important. A win against Michigan would certainly put us on the right track....but with an eight game season....Wisconsin is the game that we need for the tie breaker. Iowa too.

Speaking of tie breakers, recall that last year we controlled our destiny after the PSU win.

Folks tend to see the Wisconsin L as pivotal, but if we'd won in Iowa City 2 weeks earlier, holding everything else equal we could have dropped the last 2 games and still been Champ of the West.

This year at least the big ones as they seem now...MI, I-O-W-A, and WI...are nicely spaced out...not the November gauntlet like last year. If Coach can maintain the one game at a time..."this week is the Gophers-X Championship Season"... mentality again, it looks promising.

Still have to end things in Lincoln...and then the unknown contest...

While you are somewhat on track, to lose to Wisconsin and still win the west the gophers would’ve had to beaten Iowa and northwestern.

beating Iowa would not have allowed them to lose the last two as you stated

Iowa is the only west team Minnesota has never beaten during Fleck’s tenure. Would be nice to get them

Oops...you're right. Still needed to beat Northwestern.

Thanks for keeping me from rewriting history!
