The Gophers had an exciting tandem at receiver last season in Tyler Johnson and Bateman. The two combined for over 2,500 yards receiving and 24 touchdowns. Johnson is gone -- selected by the Tampa Bay Bucs in the NFL draft -- which means Bateman will be called upon heavily this season to replicate his production. He averaged 20.32 yards per catch last season, so he is a big play waiting to happen. With quarterback Tanner Morgan back, he and Bateman should have no problem connecting this coming season and putting up big numbers once again.
