What the loss means for Minnesota: When asked about this game this week, Gophers head coach Jerry Kill responded with his own query: “What do we have to lose?” No one expected Minnesota to win, but it gained some respect with the strong effort against one of the nation’s top teams. If the Gophers can play defense like they did Thursday night, they will be serious contenders in the wide-open Big Ten West.

Go Gophers!!

If the gophers play like they did last night, I honestly can't see anyone except for OSU that has a chance to beat us. Our defense looks to be one of the elite defenses in the nation.

Our offense is bad. Mitch is a below average QB. The inability to recruit and develop that position is now the anvil around the neck of the program. Poor thrower with terrible ball security (see the gift TD after holding TCU to a FG) and a slow runner. The worst of both worlds. Remember the TCU QB was a WR a couple years ago. Mitch should be playing the Maxx Williams role at TE. Kill should have gone after a JC kid this year to really challenge him for the job.
Bright spot was Smith. Looks like he can be a very good RB. You need to be able to score to win big in CFB these days. Gary Patterson realized that and revamped hi whole scheme. D played pretty well with some creative packages. Tracey is a great coach.

Oh wow. Don't get ahead of yourself here. Everyone has a chance to beat us, that's why we play the games.

I think you're underestimating TCU defense. Mitch wasn't the problem last night. The line which was banged up had issues and nugget was a disappointment IMO
