per Bennett:

"We've had some good plays, but we've had some drops," Kill said. "That's the big thing. [Quarterback] Philip [Nelson] has been pretty consistent and pretty sharp the first two games.

"We've got to cut down on some of the dropped balls and make some plays. We have people capable of doing that, and I think we'll see much improvement there as the year goes on."

Go Gophers!!

I'd like to see Leidner do some passing - in two blowouts, he's seen little action. Obviously, if anything happens to Nelson - and with him running a lot it could - Leidner would need as much experience as he can get in these early games.

I guess Coach Kill has been making sure Nelson gets some game experience. Players are built and get better in practice. Remember Michigan's qb who pretty much got most of his experience by playing against the Gophers when their other qb just couldn't go that day last season.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Leidner thrust into the game at any point in the W.I. game. Who knows, Coach Kill might send him out for a series or two towards the end of the first quarter or half way through the second quarter. Or, maybe not.

You know how coaches are on Game Day Saturday...you never know WHAT to expect from them...

But we DO know WHAT to expect from some GH'ers on the Official Game Day Thread, right walrus?

What Coach Kill is saying, Just Catch the Ball. You can be tall, you can be quick, you can get separation, you can leap out to the gym, but if you cannot catch the ball you are not doing your job. The most reliable receiver is the tight end Williams. And his strength is making the catch.

I would be surprised if Mitch didn't play more this week including a full series when it isn't complete garbage time. I have been surprised before however.
