per ESPN:

A months-old Facebook post has cost the Nebraska football stadium announcer his job one day after his hiring was announced.

Jon Schuetz said Tuesday that a university official told him he was let go because of a Facebook post critical of the firing of football coach Bo Pelini last November. Schuetz said he has deleted the post and declined to comment on what it said.

Go Gophers!!

The moral of the story? Don't get to close to the help.

As long as I can't lose a job for posting on GopherHole, we're fine.

Apparently the chancellor of the university doesn't take kindly to being called a "f***ing disgrace" on social media by a guy hired to run the PA at football games. Go figure.

Jon is my financial advisor...and one heck of a guy. Once again, Nebraska showing its class. Freaking idiots.

Shouldn't have been a surprise considering, the chancellor of the university also doesn't take kindly to being called a "f***ing disgrace" by a guy hired to coach the football team. Go figure.

Y not do your home work before the hire ?? Shows how smart they are ..
