ESPN: College football's top 10 scoreboards

per the link:

Honorable mentions

Minnesota: It measures 48 feet tall by 108 feet long, but what really sets it apart is the fact that it displayed YouTube sensation “Dramatic Gopher” to distract Wisconsin kicker Jack Russell last fall. The gopher went 1-for-2 in distractions on the day.

Go Gophers!!

Texas should be ranked last based on the picture they used. So full of ads the actual video portion of the screen is small. You could make that screen 5 times as big but it's still not going to be pleasing to the eye to watch it when there are ads everywhere.

That's every scoreboard in the country though, ads are encroaching every square foot of available space.

Shows the arms race: when the board was put in at TCF, I believe it was one of the biggest, if not the biggest (always heard about Texas' Godzilliatron, don't know if it was in before or after TCF). Clearly in only a few years, that many have upgraded. Personally, I'm going with Minnesota raised the bar for everyone back then....

I will take TCF's over what USC has. Was not that impressed when we were at the 2011 game.

It's called Adzillatron.

0 resolution at the moment.

As of today, I think the resolution has to be at least 17. Don't be fooled by the crappy cell phone camera taken from a mile away.

That's funny, thanks for posting that. Someone might need to go turn the fine tuning knob a little bit and then Hogan's Heroes would probably come on nice and clear.

It probably won't be too far off until they expand the scoreboard to cover the entire open end to keep up in the arms race.

The Old Dutch roulette wheel would look awesome at 1080. The programmers at Atari should get right on that.

My favorite part of the game followed by the kiss cam. Could care less what happens on the field except at the end of the third quarter when they have that dance thingy.
