per ESPN:

i
19. Minnesota Golden Gophers: RB Mohamed Ibrahim
Ibrahim has already been a significant part of the Gophers' offense the past two seasons -- he led the team in rushing in 2018 (1,160 yards) and was second this season with 604 yards -- but with seniors Rodney Smith and Shannon Brooks moving on, the stage is set for Ibrahim to have an even bigger role in 2020. In the Golden Gophers' 31-24 win over Auburn in the Outback Bowl, Ibrahim ran for a season-high 140 yards and a touchdown. He will be an important weapon for new offensive coordinator Mike Sanford. -- Bonagura

Go Gophers!!

Pretty sure Ibrahim “broke out” in the 2018 season. Who is his other break out player? Morgan? Bateman?

Looking forward to watching Mo do some real damage next fall.

That's a really safe prediction. He just didn't have as much opportunity this past season with Smith and Brooks around. I thought there were many times that he looked like their best back.

It is a safe prediction on the part of ESPN but when you think about it, most outside of Minnesota (and maybe now Auburn) won't totally remember Mo because he took a back seat in 2019. So when he has a monster year next year it will be seen as a breakout.

Really excited to see what he can do in the feature spot again. Smith was a really nice running back for us but there is something about Mo that makes me think he has the potential to be a superstar if he can stay healthy. He reminds me a lot of MB3 when he was here. Maybe doesn't have the top end speed but super physical and hard to bring down.

A bigger question to me is who will be the No. 2 and No. 3 backs that will show up.
