Go Gophers!!

Nebby last week was 2-4 and was picked to not bowl, we still hold a better record
and now we're not going bowling? Gotta love weekly predictions...lol

It will be tough to make a bowl this year. Besides beating Illinois, which beat us last year and is improved, we'd have to upset Ohio State, Michigan, Iowa or Wisconsin - and Michigan has a bye and will be playing us as their first game after the MSU last-second mishap.

Have you looked at Minnesota's remaining schedule?

Who do you think they'll beat?

In comparison to the preseason prediction this may be one of worst years in football history. As much as I like to believe we can win upcoming games the reality is I don't see the talent or game day coaching to pull off the upsets needed

You're right, but we do have a chance of winning the last two games of the season if we are healthier then. Stranger things have happened before. A probation handicapped PSU beat 9-2 Wisconsin at Madison on the last day of the regular season two years ago. What might help is giving healthier but less tested players more experience over the next three games which are most likely lost causes anyway.

Without some major improvements I don't see us winning more than 2 more games. Hopefully Wisconsin and probably Illinois. I would love to beat Iowa again. Michigan and OSU look like almost sure loses at this point. Winning only 1 more and missing out on a bowl game is not a terrible prediction if you are an unbiased observer.

IL, WI are the most likely.

MI wouldn't shock me.

IA would surprise me, but we've beat them as big underdogs before. Crazier things have happened.

If you stuck a gun to my head I would say the Gophers end up bowl ineligible. That said, there's a side of me that thinks they'll upset one team yet this season.

However, that is assuming an Illinois victory which is definitely not guaranteed. I planned on going to a Bowl game this year, but now, I am just not sure.

I hope I'm wrong, they run the table and somehow win the West, the B1G and the Rose Bowl, but I think the chances of that are worse than Michigan State's chances of winning with 10 seconds left Saturday. :)

We still got three trophies to play for. Two to keep. Plus, this is the year that we get the AXE!

To make a Bowl we need 2 more wins.

Big Nope:
Michigan
@ Ohio State
@ Iowa

Probably Nope:
Wisconsin

Maybe:
Illinois

Illinois might be playing for their 6th win so they might be hyper motivated...

Wisc looks off this year but we're way off too. They beat Nebraska, hung tight with Iowa, and Wisc gets a bit of a get healthy run before they play Northwestern and then us.... meanwhile we go through a meat grinder. Gonna have to somehow get healthy and play out of our minds to pull out that 6th win.

Honest question, and not just because we are listed as out currently...do people really care much about these guesses before the last week or two of the year? I don't see the point, other than some "expert" wanting credit for the few they guess right on. Please help me understand the fascination with it

Also looking at Neb remaining schedule, they clearly have an easier road to 6 wins.

Sat, Oct 24 vs Northwestern
Sat, Oct 31 @ Purdue
Sat, Nov 7 vs Michigan State
Sat, Nov 14 @ Rutgers
Fri, Nov 27 vs Iowa

NW is struggling, two bad teams on the road, and winning out wouldn't be a real big shock.
