ESPN: 5 Notre Dame players arrested; police find gun, marijuana in car

Five Notre Dame football players were arrested Friday night after police stopped them for speeding and reported finding a handgun and marijuana in the car.

Senior safety Max Redfield, redshirt freshman cornerback Ashton White, freshman wide receiver Kevin Stepherson, sophomore running back Dexter Williams and sophomore linebacker Te'von Coney were each charged with possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor. Redfield, Stepherson and Williams were also charged with possession of a handgun without a license, also a misdemeanor.

In a separate incident, Notre Dame cornerback Devin Butler was arrested early Saturday morning on preliminary charges of battery to law enforcement and resisting law enforcement in a separate incident.

My late grandfather in-law was a Lutheran Pastor for 75 years. He always said you couldn't trust that Catholic football team.

What does a college football player need a handgun for?
 


They will probably all get a one game suspension. Do they play UMass again this year?
 



















There are 5 people in the car and 3 of them are charged with possession of a handgun? If there's only one gun, how does that work?

Perhaps 3 of them where dumb enough to answer the cops questions without a lawyer and incriminated themselves.

Or all three fingered each other and so three charges levelled until they find out whose gun it really was.
