per Eric Hagen:
The phrase “Brick by Brick” has been the team motto since Kill was hired in 2011. The crux of the message is that making Gophers football consistently among the top teams in the Big Ten will not happen in one or two years.
The final game of the 2015 Big Ten season with Wisconsin may decide the Big Ten West division as it did in 2014. This time, the game is at TCF Bank Stadium.
But the national media picked the Gophers to finish third in the division behind Nebraska and Wisconsin even though both have new coaches. The negative for the Gophers is a tough schedule but they have the same eight Big Ten opponents they had last year. The only difference is the home and away opponents swap. So while they have to travel to Ohio State and Iowa, they get Michigan, Nebraska and Wisconsin at home.
They have the pleasure of facing the top two preseason ranked teams. Ohio State is ranked first and may still be when they face them in November. The first game of the season on a Thursday night, Sept. 3 is against No. 2 ranked Texas Christian University. They has been a lot of buzz among Gophers fans about this game and it is significant nationally for college football. Kick-off is at 8 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ESPN. I will be going to the game with two friends, cheering loud for a huge upset.
