LA sports radio is now reporting UCLA has their man as of this afternoon. "Just working out final details" (Translation, He's still in the tourney before play started Friday.)

How does the puzzle fit? My guess is:

Ucla=Enfield Warm weather, wife would love Hollywood.

Gophers=Marshall Midwest guy, program builder. Has won at every stop.(Dark Horse is Buzz) (Bennett-longshot)

USC= None of the above, nobody really cares here, neither would these coaches. Kinda like being the bball coach at Bama.

IMo, Marshall would be best for the Gophers. Buzz is great but He bolts to Texas the first chance He gets anyways. I do believe Buzz is gone either way due to the Catholic 7 league,no tv= no recruits. Flip? I can't see NT doing this.

Can I get a blindfold before the firing squad?

HuH? His first two years at WSU He was 28-38. The last 4 years He averages 8 losses per year total.

Prior to his last season at WSU. The Shockers won 26 games under Mark Turgeon. You're acting like Gregg Marshall took over some bottom feeder program when he didn't.

If you take the temperature of the national media royalty, Minnesota doesn't deserve a new coach as a punishment for firing Saint Orlando. And that's getting off easy. The Death Penalty would be more just.

Turgeon's final season in WSU was 17-14 and they finished 6th in conference with an 8-10 record. They didn't go to either the NCAA's or the NIT that season. Combine that with Marshall coming in and struggling his first two years and I think it's safe to say the cupboard wasn't full when Marshall got there and he had some rebuilding to do.

That could be part of it and the transition from Winthrop may not have been easy. It's a a moot point and I don't have anything against Gregg Marshall and do think he's a good coach.

I guess that's what happens when an ad gets a "Tubby Smith type of hire..."

It's time for our new norwood to bring home Flip before he screws that up...maybe he already has...

Flip to UCLA for the "one and done" recruits final grooming to the NBA?

Nope: just have a hunch that when the dust settles Flip will be the one coaching our Gophers next season...
