Eastern Illinois getting a whole lot better

I still wouldn't be worried about losing the game but it could make things a little more interesting. I say bring on the challenge.

I didn't realize they made the I-AA semifinals last year. It could be a tougher game than I was expecting but hopefully we will be prepared.

They also had a quarterback who could be drafted as high as round 2 next week.

Sweet, DGB by far my favorite non gopher/Big Ten player in college football since he was a recruit, well, at least before this fiasco but seriously though, He is a once in a generation type talent at WR, you only get a guy like him every 5 years at least. I will love watching him play in person and seeing how my gophs do against him. Even with this they still probably won't be as good last year with Garapolo, a projected third round NFL QB leaving so i will still be expecting a blowout.

^ thanks for posting these updates. G-B would present the greatest challenge given his natural talent. I'm not too worried about Whitlow. Assuming he wins the QB competition, he still has a new offense to learn and the first game usually has some speed bumps in it which is good for us. I think we dispatch E. Ill with little trouble.

I'll predict there is a 50-50 chance Green-Beckham is not even on the team by that time.

Does anybody know rules about playing in canada or Europe? There have been a few college stars who don't play football theist year before the draft and I was just wondering why none consider aging in another country. I imagine it could help their stock and make some money.

GB's situation may be because counseling and focus on emotional and psychological issues may be most beneficial for him (purely my speculation). But I was just wondering why we haven't seen guys go abroad and make some money and keep competing to get better.

Taking a year off of college football entirely actually worked out pretty well for Tyrann Mathieu with the Cardinals. Before his injury at least.

American players are eligible to play in the CFL 4 years after they enroll in college, so more stringent than NFL.

NFL Europe died in 2007.

Everything was fine until he fought off some javelinas.

I'm more worried about Manley than Whitlow. As for G-B, I've heard he is likely to sit out the year for better or for worse.

Would he not have to sit out a year if he joins an FBS program? I though that rule was still in play if you're kicked off a team.

They also had a quarterback who could be drafted as high as round 2 next week.

Usually when people say things like this, I laugh in their face because they are usually horribly wrong. Remember everyone here saying David Fales was a 1st rounder after he torched us? He was lucky to be drafted.

You were actually right, so I want to congratulate you for not spewing BS. Well done.

To be fair, many NFL Draft experts were calling David Fales an early-round pick going into last season, so it's not like he pulled it out of his ass.

Also, DGB has officially been added to the Oklahoma roster and is petitioning for immediate eligibility.

Oh, wow! Thanks for sharing Dpo.

He can't honestly have a chance at this, can he?

A kid getting kicked off a team for behavior problems should be the last reason they're allowed to play right away with a new school. But, this is the NCAA so we'll see...
